Hi
Great forum! Reading through these posts convinced me to buy the DNS-323 and I've been hugely happy with it. So lots of thanks is already owed to the community. I am thinking whether or not the DNS-323 is able to take over another task - recording of TV programmes.
I've seen that it is possible to connect a USB Audio Device to the DNS323. I want to know if anyone has tried this with any kind of TV card. I am specifically interested in a DVB-S card so for Free-To-Air (Freesat).
In an ideal world - I would record the transport streams on the DNS-323 and then view them back on XBMC (I've managed to do this already - but using a PC to record the streams)
So I've only just started looking into this, but here's the little I know so far:
* Clearly, the system requirements for these USB devices suggest a 1.5Mhz CPU or better - but I am guess this is mainly for playback. I assume that just to record the streams requires fairly low CPU usage.
* There are tiny number of USB DVB-S devices that have had linux support added:

I'm interested to know if anyone has tried this, if it is worth investigating further or whether its a stupid idea all together? ![]()
Any idea much appreciated.
Cheers
John
