Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

I just installed the 1.06 firmware update to support my 2 1.5TB drives in Raid1 mode.
The firmware upgrade went fine
Symptom 1
When opening the network neighborhood and selecting the DLINK device it prompts for a driver.
I'm running Vista Home Premium and tried both the version 1.0 and 1.02 vista drivers... both hang during the installation process, returning a failure due to timeout... on 2 different laptops.
Symptom 2
The volume is still reachable even though the driver install hangs. So I copied some media files.... all went well.
But when I attempt to Shutdown either PC, the PC hangs, and after 30 minutes I end up manually forcing a power off (hold the power button down)
Symptom 3
When attempting to enter Standby, after a long delay (more than 5 min), the PCs get a BSOD with a bugcheck 9f (0x9f Arg1=0x04), then restart.
The Minidump analysis indicates there's a problem in the PNP driver not returning status (a timeout) in a powerdown sequence.
If I power down the DNS-323, both Vista PCs shutdown or enter standby mode like normal.
Misc. other items only verified on 1 PC (don't know if the 2nd experiences the same thing or not at this time):
-Attempted to apply a Critical Microsoft Update... hangs with DNS-323 turned on
-Attempted creating a System Restore Point... hangs with DNS-323 turned on
I'm interested in recommendations to a solution/workaround shy of turning off the DNS-323 or killing the network connection on the PC whenever I want to Shutdown or Standby one of my PCs.

I had the same problem. The solution was to uninstal the dns-323 vista driver. I don't miss it as it doesn't do anything important anyway.

Solution: Used BlackVipers "Default" settings for Vista services
