Run on startup problem (chroot debian)

I've gone through an setup rtorrent on a lenny debian chroot that testing shows runs correctly. I can also get it to run properly in the background using screen. I'd like to get these two options working together at startup.
This is the script suggested to do it: http://libtorrent.rakshasa.no/attachmen … tInit.bash
If I run it explicitly as part of the linuxrc script it spits out an error. Seen here: stty: standard input: Inappropriate ioctl for device.
I don't know how to get the init.d stuff to run without calling it explicitly at startup through the linuxrc script.

If I try to run the init script from the console post log in it runs without spitting out an error but doesn't actually start the process. (checked by running ps -A)

Ideas?

I put
su -c 'screen -q -dmS rtorrent rtorrent' torrent
in rc.local

Re: Run on startup problem (chroot debian)

Thanks for that I've been messing with rssdler the last few days. I'll be trying it out tomorrow. I'm wandering my way around linux while I work on these things so I don't know where most of the system functions are.
