Hi, single drive

Hi I'm looking at getting my hands on a DNS 323, can it be utilised with a single drive in place and a second added later or do I need to have a pair from the off? Cheers Si

Re: Hi, single drive

Single drive is fine. You can add a second drive later and configure it either as a stand-alone volume or RAID.

Re: Hi, single drive

Single drives ( I think) go in the right hand caddy.

Re: Hi, single drive

A single drive can be placed on either side and it will work just fine - however - if it is placed on the left, you may find that when adding a second drive, the drive designation switches from Volume_1 to Volume_2.
