DSM-G600, DNS-3xx and NSA-220 Hack Forum

Setup is

DNS 323 - 2 X 1tb Samsungs - separate drive with backup script as described in the forum.

PC Linux 2007 also dual boot XP

Funplug 1.05

This set up was working for 3-4 weeks and I could transfer files easily from and to the NAS using Konqueror, both drag and drop and cut and paste between Konqueror windows.

Now it simply hangs up on big files and occasionally on small files.  All works OK on XP but I use mainly PCLOS in preference to XP

Things I have done

In Terminal did a CP of large files to the NAS from Home Dir - no problem

Copied large files in Konqueror from home to another dir, and from home to a FAT32 partition, all transferred OK

I'm very frustrated with this as I had such a good performance until now.  I have the backup script run every day to back up from one drive to the other and everything apart from the linux problem is great.

I do not know what else to do as I am a beginner in Linux.

Any ideas?


UPDATE

Tried some other things with my XP machines and Linux to try and isolate the problem

Konqueror transfer from Linux PC to Windows PC is OK (Remote Places can't find Workgroup - I used bookmarks in Konqueror and SMB//alan@IPADDRESS/DIR to transfer)
Konqueror transfer from Windows PC to Linux PC is OK
WinXP transfer from NAS to Windows PC is OK
Konqueror transfer from NAS to Linux PC and reverse direction - lockup

Just don't know enough Linux to get any further into diagnostics.
