I'm using K-playlist to play my music files on the CH3SNAS over the web. Is it possible to install lame on the nas so K-playlist can transacode my 320 bitrate mp3's to a lower value for better streaming?

As far as I know, Lame uses floating point math and since the NAS only emulates floating point, it would take a long time to encode an mp3. You would have to find a fixed point (integer math) mp3 encoder if you would like to encode at a decent speed. I do not know if one exists.
