DNS 323 connecting to the net by itself?

Hi,

I bought a DNS 323 about 2 weeks ago. Everything went fine when I plugged it to the router. A couple of days ago, my ISP warned me that I was reaching the limit on my bandwidth quota and that I had 5.5Gb left. I was downloading a lot recently, so I stopped all downloads and has since just been checking emails and surfing casually. Today I woke up to another from my ISP telling me that I have now reached 100% of my limit!
Now, the only thing that I can think of that could have been doing this is the NAS drive. I installed the bittorrent and transmission client on it after I didn't have any downloads going since I got the warning. Could it be that the NAS drive is connecting to the net by itself to do 'stuff'?

Thanks for any help you may provide.

PS. I don't think someone's hacking into my wifi to download stuff.
