Network UPS Tool - Request for Version Update

Fonz,

I'm pleased to say that I now have the NUT Web interface running and can view status and various settings of my UPS. There is one problem which, by information gleamed from the NUT change log (http://networkupstools.org/source/2.4/ChangeLog), may be resolved through upgrade to the latest version of nut. The problem I'm having is that the "load" value returned by nut is unrealistic; the value returned is  209999999999999940000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000%.  The change log indicates that a number of changes have been made to the usbhid-ups driver since release 2.2.2 of NUT. A few notes found in the log indicate there was a problem with passing of incorrect values.

Could I impose upon you and ask that the latest version of NUT be compiled and packaged so I may attempt to resolve this problem.

With appreciation

THANK YOU!

I've installed and configured the update. I'm saddened to say the load value still doesn't show correctly. Good news though, a few other idiosyncrasies have been addressed by the change.

I've raised this issue in the NUT forum and will report back here if a solution is found

Arjen over on the Nut-upsusers forum has been working with me for the last week or so in an attempt to resolve this problem. Based on information that I sent him he believes a "problem must be in the calculation of  the unit exponent" and as such has posted a new file on the on the SVN that will incorporate additional debugging detail.

Unfortunately I've no knowledge when it comes to building an install package for ffp and wonder if someone here could assist by doing so for me?

There's a thread on the Nut-upsusers forum (http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermai … 04941.html) that may shed light on the  requirements.

With humbled appreciation

I've compiled the current nut 2.5 development version, revision 1814. If I'm not mistaken, the debug info change mentioned on the mailing list was added a couple of hours ago in revision 1811.

I've named the package nut25 to not conflict with the stable release, so you need to uninstall nut explicitly (i.e. funpkg -r nut)  before installing nut25.

Fonz; The assistance you're providing in this area is greatly appreciated. I must tell you that I know of several other forums where participants don't receive the same high level of support that you provide here.  Thank you for working so diligently with me to resolve this problem.

I've checked the 2.5 subversion area and concur with your findings.

Understood and thanks once again. I'll let you know how I make out.

I'm pleased to say that changes implemented by Network UPS Tool develpers and subsequently fonz have proven successful. Readings obtained when using either the upsc command or Web Browser interface are correct.

Many thanks again to fonz for his efforts in this area.

With appreciation
