Hi, I have just installed a wd 750g hdd into my dns323. Managed to map a drive, copied a few movies and got it to serve via upnp av to my popcorn hour. I noticed that the movie would stop after 5 minutes. I changed the hdd sleep time to 30 mins and this helped.
However, I left the unit alone while I was copying some files onto it. I couldn't copy all files as the unit seemed to go to 'sleep'. I tried accessing the config page by typing in the ip address into my web browser (static ip) and I couldn't access it. At this point the dlink easy search app couldn't find it either. I tried pressing the power button at the front but this did nothing. The onlything I could do was pull the power cable out and repower and all was well. However, a short whileafter leaving it alone, same problem.
Does this issue relate to the hdd sleep and should I disable this? Is that bad for the hdd?
Firmware is 1.06
