Re: connect to Topfield 5220

Hi, sadly you're out of luck as the kernel is missing USBDEVFS support. I had a go at writing a specific kernel driver, but it wasn't really compatible with the ftpd-topfield program, so I could only get the initial "reset" command to work, and ran out of time to investigate why nothing else worked. After that, I just gave up and now resort to removing the hard drive from the Topfield occasionally to access it directly. It's much quicker anyway.

If you're serious about getting it to work, your options are:

1. Put a serial port on the DSM-G600 and build your own kernel with USBDEVFS support. You'll need the serial port in case the kernel doesn't work and you need to unbrick your DSM-G600.
2. Ask whether any kind person would be willing to build a kernel with USBDEVFS support compiled in, and most importantly, test it for you .

Once you've done that, you'll need to build ftpd-topfield or puppy
