Can't find printer

I'm having problems with printer connected to DNS-323.
NAS can see printer just fine but window can't find it
I'm doing everything as said

Am I missing anything?

Re: Can't find printer

1.  Configure your NAS either with a static or DHCP reserved address
2.  Connect the printer directly to your computer, load the drivers, make sure it prints.
3.  Open the printer properties, go to add port and add a new local port, call it \\<ip-of-dns-323>\lp
4.  Disconnect the printer from the computer, connect to the NAS
5.  Print.
6.  Repeat steps 1~5 for each computer you wish to use the printer with.

Re: Can't find printer

It connects fine but when I'm trying to send job to the printer I'm getting an error.
I forgot to mention it's multifunction Cannon D340? Is this going to be a problem?

Thx

Re: Can't find printer

It might - multifunction printers are generally a royal PITA when it comes to sharing - go into printer properties and disable bi-directional communications and see if that helps.  I believe some of the Canons use some sort of an ink level monitor that can cause problems, I don't know if yours does.
