Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Has anyone sucessfully setup and run AFP on a DNS-321? Following the wiki, I managed to install netatalk on the 321 using the optware method. When I ps the device, it shows afpd is running and my system finds and recognizes the device as an AFP share as well as a SMB share. However, when I try to log in, I keeps stating "username/password is not valid". I assume this is a problem with the configuration files or the location where the login information is stored is different between the 321 or 323. Any success stories out there?
My setup:
iMac running OSX 10.5 with latest updates
Router is Belkin F5D7230-4
DNS-321 with 2 Samsung F1 Spinpoint 1TB drives (HD103UJ) in JBOD with firmware 1.01
Home folder has been assigned using the FTP web admin page on the 321
TIA

same problem here.. no luck so far tweaking the settings...

Figured it out. The optware packages don't seem to work for the 321, however, installation using fun_plug does work. I now can see and log into the 321 via appletalk.

Curious if anyone has figured out why the netatalk optware method doesn't work? Using the fun_plug funkpg method workaround solved the problem on my DNS-323 as well, but I'd like to see if I can use optware as well.
Can anyone confirm installing netatalk properly via optware?
