I have a few DNS-323's and I would like to move the files between them. They are all setup as individual disks / no raid. I have tried to mount the folders from one to another with no success. I currently only have ffp on one of the units but am more then willing to load it on others if required. It would make sense to me to copy the files direct between the machines rather then use an XP box to facilitate the copy.
Most of the files are larger then 4gig so I'd prefer not to use FXP (if I could even get it working)
I am a linux noob so speak slowly and use small words...
Any ideas?

One possibility may be to enable the FTP server on the unit that does NOT have ffp, then use the ftpput and ftpget commands on the ffp-enabled unit to move data back and forth. I have not tried this as I don't have 2 DNS devices. But conceptually it should work.

Thanks for the answers!!!

I'll give this a try but I have read that FTP has file limits in the 3-4 gig sizes when working with these devices

Wouldn't you have to mount the other device it before you use this? If so, how do you mount the other device?

Update- Ok, so I tried the FTP method with 3 files (all > 4gig) and they all timed out. I'm going to try them again with MC and see if it does a better job.
