Re: Updated fun_plug

Hi all,
I installed this fun_plug 0.5 and it works fine.
I've tried to compile tftp-hpa-0.48 on dns-323 and I had this :

"......  configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables"

I'm not very expirienced, so I don't know where to go further?
Does  anyone have an idea?

fonz has written a new fun_plug 0.5. Busybox works very fine. When I start lighttpd then stands there:
/ffp/sbin/lighttpd: can´t load library "libssl.so.0.9.8"

Does  anyone have an idea?

Install openssl. lighttpd also requires pcre and zlib (and maybe more).

Re: Updated fun_plug

Hallo Fonz,

many php-scripts use mysql as a database. Is there a possibility that even with fun_plug 0.5 easy to implement?

Look at http://dns323.kood.org/forum/t1737-MySQL-DNS-323.html

Best thanks.

Please see the Upgrade section of the README file.

Hi - Just pondering upgrading from 0.4 to the newer 0.5 version of funplug before I invest too much time getting to grips with 0.4.

Looking at the readme on your website and either:

a) I've gone blind

or

b) the readme has been updated

because I can't see anything about how to upgrade. Could you provide a quick guide what to do?

Cheers

You haven't. There's no upgrade instructions for 0.5, yet. It's experimental, and I mean it (and don't want to encourage too many people to try it). If you'd like to help testing, I recommend waiting another week or two until I have sorted out a few more problems.

Try this one. Have a look inside and adjust usbdisk_dev (device file) and usbdisk_mountp (mount point) if needed or desired. Put it in /ffp/start. It expects the usb-storage.ko module (if you want the script to load it) in /ffp/lib/modules/$(uname -r)/ (You can change that path, too, of course).

Then telnet in and run

Code:

sh /ffp/start/usbdisk.sh start
sh /ffp/start/usbdisk.sh status
sh /ffp/start/usbdisk.sh stop

It runs long before lighttpd.

Re: Updated fun_plug

Sorry if this was covered somewhere, I was unable to find solution.
I just tried to install fun_plug 4, attached hdd to linux box and copied two files as root on a dsmg600. After reboot telnetd does not start. I see the following in the logs:
...
<skipped extraction part which seems to have no problems>
...
* Deleting /mnt/HD_a2/fun_plug.tar...
* /mnt/HD_a2/fun_plug.d/start/00syslog.sh not executable...
* Running /mnt/HD_a2/fun_plug.d/start/00telnetd.sh start ...
/bin/sh: Can't open [
/bin/sh: Can't open echo
* /mnt/HD_a2/fun_plug.d/start/00timezone.sh not executable...
* /mnt/HD_a2/fun_plug.d/start/inetd.sh not executable...
* Done

What am I doing wrong? Is fun_plug 4 for dns323 only and does not work on dsmg? Sorry if that's a dumb question, I am a noob.

Won't work on dsmg600 - different processor type.

Re: Updated fun_plug

Hi,

I just installed and got ffp 0.5 working (wanted to get mysql working so am trying with 0.5)
Lighttpd and php are now functional! and my site is up and running again.

However,..
How do I get lighttpd working automatically after a restart?

It seams the file rcstarts the *.sh files, telnet and sysinit starts but the rest do not, eventhough they are in the same dir. What am I doing wrong?

Especially I would like to have lighttpd and mysql to start automatically

* Running /ffp/etc/rc ...
* /ffp/start/adjtimex.sh inactive
* /ffp/start/sysinit.sh ...
* /ffp/start/syslogd.sh inactive
* /ffp/start/SERVERS.sh inactive
* /ffp/start/usbdisk.sh inactive
* /ffp/start/portmap.sh inactive
* /ffp/start/unfs.sh inactive
* /ffp/start/nfsd.sh inactive
* /ffp/start/ntpd.sh inactive
* /ffp/start/LOGIN.sh inactive
* /ffp/start/telnetd.sh ...
Starting /ffp/sbin/telnetd -l /ffp/bin/sh
* /ffp/start/rsyncd.sh inactive
* /ffp/start/mysqld.sh inactive
* /ffp/start/mediatomb.sh inactive
* /ffp/start/lighttpd.sh inactive
* /ffp/start/inetd.sh inactive
* /ffp/start/dropbear.sh inactive
* /ffp/start/btpd.sh inactive

Thanks for your help
Patrick

Re: Updated fun_plug

Hello fonz,

I have installed your experimental version (fonz0.5) as described in the readme-file.

After succesfully telnetting to my DNS-323 in RAID1-Mode (runnung official firmware 1.04b84) things look like this:

/ # rsync -av inreto.de::dns323/fun-plug/0.5-experimental/packages .
receiving file list ... done
packages/
packages/MANIFEST.txt
packages/apr-1.2.12-1.tgz
packages/apr-util-1.2.12-1.tgz
packages/autoconf-2.61-1.tgz
packages/automake-1.10.1-1.tgz
rsync: write failed on "/packages/automake-1.10.1-1.tgz": No space left on device (28)
rsync error: error in file IO (code 11) at receiver.c(298) [receiver=3.0.0]
rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (2154 bytes received so far) [generator]
rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(600) [generator=3.0.0]

170 MB are free on my harddrive, just in case you will raise this :-)

What might be wrong here???

Ploppfrische Grüße aus Flensburg

Using rsync, you can now download and install packages with:

    telnet bob
    cd /mnt/HD_a2
    rsync -av inreto.de::dns323/fun-plug/0.5-experimental/packages .

First user to fun_plug the dns-323.

Re: Updated fun_plug

Hello, fonz, thanks for your awesome work with the fun_plug. Is there a usb version of fun_plug 0.4 or 0.5? I would like to be able to run the fun_plug on a usb flash drive to minimize power usage and hard disk wear and tear, and to facilitate umount and e2fsck without the use of some scripts proposed in this forum. Thanks.

But I have a problem with sqlite: from telnet it's all ok, i can make table, insert data and do querys, but from a test page that I've write in php I receive the error message: Call to undefined function: sqlite_open() when I try to use sqlite. I search the forum, but I'can't find any solution. Someone can help me? Tanks!

sqlite and a few more extensions are compiled as shared objects, i.e. separate library files that must be loaded when needed. You need to create a /ffp/etc/php.ini that loads the modules you need like this (also attached to this post):

Code:

[PHP]
extension=pdo.so
extension=sqlite.so

I've tested it with a small script using sqlite_open and it solved the problem here.
