DNS-323 FW 1.0.7 avilable, anyone using it?

Shows the following in the release notes:

Firmware: 1.07
Date: 04/16/09

1. Fix for Deskstar 7K1000.B - Model HDT721010SLA360 Hitachi drives.

Just wondering if they chose to address anything else while they were at it?   perhaps they put some other goodies in the kernel, or updated it etc.

if anyone has answer/feedback please post here!

Don't know why you would think they put stuff in and didn't say - mind you I could understand a bug sneaking in.
But for what it's worth, I'm using it, and the only difference I can see (I don't have the Hitachi drives) is that it says Firmware 1.07

I'm just being hopeful maybe... afterall it doesn't list exactly what they had to do to apply the fix..   most of the time they need to recompile a driver module or something like that.  if that is the case they may have updated the kernel a slightly and in the process could have possibly left kernel NFS in place etc.

had they listed details of the exact fix, I wouldn't be so hopeful!

Same here. Using it, and I have not seen any problems introduced with this firmware.

Re: DNS-323 FW 1.0.7 avilable, anyone using it?

what do you get for the output of cat /proc/version?   My home internet connection dropped as I am posting this so I don't have my output

do the contents of an ls /lib/modules match this:
lltd.ko    sd_mod.ko  usblp.ko

cat /proc/version
Linux version 2.6.12.6-arm1 (ffna@SWTEST2) (gcc version 3.3.3) #31 Thu Mar 26 18:20:41 CST 2009

and yes the ls /lib/modules matches.

Re: DNS-323 FW 1.0.7 avilable, anyone using it?

I've got two of the hitachi 1GB drives.  Up until I updated the firmware earlier today, Whenever I had to boot the dns, I would have to do a soft reboot to be able to see the drives. Now it boots like it should, in one try.

I didn't notice that anything else was different. no extra bugs or bug fixes, at least none that I could see.

looks like they didn't both to do anything but patch it a little!  it's too bad they didn't put something newer in there while they were at it...

Dlink snuck 1.0.7 in with just the Hitachi patch and renamed 1.0.7 with all the fixes and enhancements they were working on to 1.0.8.  This allowed them to get the fix for the H disks out quickly.  1.0.8 should be coming relatively soon.

When 1.08 is ready for beta it will go into its own beta forum section just like the DNS-321 has on our boards.

Re: DNS-323 FW 1.0.7 avilable, anyone using it?

When I check the US site of D-Link the latest firm ware is 1.06. I came across the 1.07 a couple of days back but I think it was a european mirror. Why is the 1.07 formware not there in the US Site. My (obvious) next question is what can go wrong if I flash with the european firmware?
Thanks

Re: DNS-323 FW 1.0.7 avilable, anyone using it?

I found 1.0.7 on the us site when posting this message.

I still can't find a feature list for what is being put into 1.0.8 on the dlink forums either
