Hi all -- just wanted to let you know that after building a new Etch install today, I realized where some deficiencies in my netatalk instructions on the wiki were, and tried to correct them. Feedback appreciated. Thanks!

OK, I've been trying to get this to work all day, and so far without any luck.
When I do the "DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=ssl debuild" I get some error about signing, but the Ubuntu forum post you link to suggests that this is ok.
However, after the final command I get an error like:
"Address family not supported by protocol"
(I'm just trying it again, and will post the actual error when done)
Also, the guide is a little confusing with all the "sudo" stuff as it assumes you've:
1) installed sudo (which doesn't seem to be in the etch minimal)
2) added a user
3) set up that user with necessary access in sudoers
4) logged in as that user
Also, even when doing all that, I get some error about needing fakeroot - even though I did "apt-get install fakeroot" (running fakeroot before doing "DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=ssl debuild" stops the error, but still doesn't solve anything).
After wasting a whole day fighting with this (and fighting to get my damn disks to reformat as a single RAID 0 device using all available space - which I could only do by using javascript to override some of the functions on the web form) help would be appreciated.

OK, despite lots of things that look like errors, it seems this is actually working.
I might tidy it all up a bit so it makes more sense for with a standard etch install - and also describe how you then connect (I'm also going to update the debian install instructions so that it's clearer what is needed for etch)
