Hi,
I just bought the DNS-323 unit and I'd like to access the files via the USB port. Is this possible at all? I ask because I'd like to use this unit with the WDTV HD box which read files from USB devices.
Please say this is possible. :-)
Thanks.

Hi,
I hate to be a pain, but I'm really just wondering if reading files from the internal drives via the USB port is possible, and if yes, where might I read up on it. If not, I'll have to return the unit. I'm no Linux guru but I can certainly move around the OS and make modifications as needed. I'm just looking for a starting point.
I also realize that I may need to modify the firmware on my WDTV as well, but I'm not willing to put effort into that until I know it'll work with DNS-323 via USB port.
I did read that files can be read via a USB network adapter connected to the WDTV unit. But if that's the only way, than I really don't need the DNS-323 for that; I can always use an old PC as a NAS server.
Anyway, any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

As far as i know it is not possible, you can use the usb port for printers, scanners and usb disks. When you mount an usb disk you can copy files back and forth, but you cannot attach an computer to the usb port and copy files.
