Hi!
I don't know if it is possible, but i will however ask it at you!
I would use my network hard-disk to boot my pc. Can I do it?
Sorry for my bad english...

all you really need to do this is a properly configured dhcp and tftp server, as well as binary images for your computer to load (and bootp/pxe support in your computer, of course). there are plenty of tutorials on the net about setting this up.. the only part you need to worry about is getting the appropriate servers (dhcp, tftp) configured on the dsm-g600

Is it possible to make the G600 a DHCP server?

Unfortunatly, not with the current in-box kernel, you get the following error:
socket: Protocol not available - make sure
CONFIG_PACKET (Packet socket) and CONFIG_FILTER
(Socket Filtering) are enabled in your kernel
configuration!
Most of the things I want to do with the DSM-G600 are limited by the kernel, unfortunatly.
One of these days i'll stumble on a way to flash a new kernel that works!

I am also interested in the DSM-G600 running as a DHCP server. I use the box as a wirless network drive during professional meetings, so we do not have to exchange paper reports. But the only option up to now is to plug in a ROuter/Gateway with DHCP to service up the IP addresses through the DSM-G600 operating as an access point.
