EXT3 is back with the new firmware and there should be much rejoicing throughout the land. Or should there be much gnashing of teeth?
Dlink's readded EXT3 which implies the earlier problems with earlier firmwares should be fixed. However, those in the know have noticed that the infamous Linux kernel that is known to cause corruption with EXT3 partitions is seemingly still being used.
Has any brave person stepped forward to stress test the new EXT3 capabilities like the stress tests of old to see if the new EXT3 implementation will hold up over time? I've seen lots of chatting, but no concrete evidence yet one way or the other and just curious if I missed it somewhere.
I'd love to have a full journaling file system on my DNS-323, but I don't want to go there if the implementation is again half-baked.
Thanks for any answers.
