Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Strange NFS problem after moving ffp to USB flash drive

I've used to forum countless times to discover new things to do with my dns-323.... I've never posted before but this forum has been a wonderful resource... now I've finally hit a snag I can't seem to figure out... and have to turn to the experts:

I've successfully moved my fun_plug to usb drive recently, and set about upgrading my internal hard drives. I have been running unfsd with great performance on my Macbook Pro running 10.5.7. Although I've been using it stably for years, now, after moving ffp to a usb volume, I'm unable to perform certain functions over nfs (I can't create a new folder or save a file directly)... I've stopped and restarted unfsd... I've checked the permission in my folder (not that it should matter, I've got "no_root_squash" enabled), I've upgraded unfsd, rebuilt my "exports" file and just did a reinstall of fun_plug... none of it seems to make any difference.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Anything I could try?

I'm currently using SMB for most functions but it's nowhere near as fast as NFS... I want my NFS back sad

Any help would be immensely appreciated.

I'm getting this message whenever I try to create a new folder:
The operation could not be completed.
An unexpected error occured (error code -50).

Re: Strange NFS problem after moving ffp to USB flash drive

As a slightly related aside.... does anyone know how to enable unicode in the built in samba server? Is this even possible?

Re: Strange NFS problem after moving ffp to USB flash drive

I use this switch under the [global] section of my custom smb.conf file to make samba use Unicode-

[global]
unix charset = UTF8
