Loose connection to NAS after about 5minutes after rebooting.

Probably a little less then 5minutes actually.

I installed Fonz Fun Plug from http://www.inreto.de/dns323/fun-plug/0.5/
Copying the 2 files over to the NAS and rebooting.

Everything seem to have went well

I then decided to check out Twonky.

I downloaded the recent version as per http://dns323.kood.org/howto:twonkyupnpserver

and ran the NAS install exe as per the readme.

Again everything seemed to have went well.

I have my ffp directory in the root of volume 1.
I have my twonky directory.. I even have the twonky config page that I went to.

I then went to their page to see if I could get a trial reg key or what I needed to do next.

Then I noticed my 2 LEDS for the harddrives started flashing between orange and purple and I could no longer access those drives.

Rebooted the NAS and all was fine for about 5 minutes. I was able to access it agian.. then the same thing happened.
Rebooted once again and didn't try to access it at all.. but same thing.

1. what happened here.

2. can I just delete the ffz or twonky directorys to "uninstall" them from my NAS to see if that fixes it up?

Thanks

Re: Loose connection to NAS after about 5minutes after rebooting.

update:

after a couple minutes the LEDs do go just purple.

also I had the twonky config page open and could browse around even when it lost access to the drives.
I had a folder open for it but it was empty now.

also I could still see the videos on my NAS through TVersity on my Xbox, but could not play any saying it didn't support that file type.

also my xbox recognized the twonky server, and could see my 2 volumes but no videos in them.. Now this could be because I havent registered or started the server or anything yet.

But just thought it was wierd I was still able to see the videos and browse the twonky config page even though I couldnt acess my drives.

Thought that might help out anyone who has any ideas.

Thanks again.

If I get the heads up that I can just deleted the directories to uninstall twonky and/or ffz Ill do that as well to test.

Thanks.

Re: Loose connection to NAS after about 5minutes after rebooting.

AFAIR there was a similar thread some days ago. The problem is that twonky writes to /tmp which is located on the DNS-323 flash. When it's full, it freezes.

Re: Loose connection to NAS after about 5minutes after rebooting.

I assume you installed twonly version 5? Your better off with 4....there's no difference really! I had 4 and I upgraded to 5 and ran into the same problems...download version 4.4.18 here http://www.twonkyforum.com/unsupported/4.4.18/
and install the exe file and tell it to uninstall the old server. You should be fine then
