Firmware compatibility DNS-323 and CH3SNAS

Sorry, maybe this is a stupid question, but I was wondering if DNS-323 firmwares released by DLink are compatible with the CH3SNAS by Conceptronic.
This is because I just ordered my copy of Snow Leopard and then I discovered that someone is having problems with the new OS and the Samba share on the DNS-323: Conceptronic has not yet released a new firmware to fix the problem.

Thanks in advice,
Pierpaolo

In general yes, but both device use different magic numbers to make sure only valid firmware files are uploaded. But it should be possible to change these numbers.

Thanks, now I have to find a way to discover where those numbers are in the firmware...

Did you find a way to switch firmware?

I'm also interested if this is possible. I found something about the magic numbers though: http://curvedbrain.org/2008/06/09/build … -323/#c238

Haven't tried this (and want to see results first).
