RAID-1 without JBOD

Hello all,

I would like to repartition my drives (identical 750GB) in my dns-323 to have 1 740 GB RAID-1 and then have 10GB partitions on each drive.

I tried with the web configuration but it wants to join the remaining 10GB partitions into a single JBOD. Is there a way, either via ssh/telnet to do this manually?

I haven't created a RAID-1 setup manually before. I was hopping that I could just let the web configuration build and manage the RAID-1 for me and then it would create the JBOD (from the two 10GB - 1 per drive). I am hopping there is a way to go into the box (ssh/telnet via ffp) and manually break apart the JBOD.

However, from my understanding, JBOD is basically like RAID-0?? Where can get find information on how the dns-323 creates the JBOD so that I can undo it?

Many thanks!

Alvin

Re: RAID-1 without JBOD

Now that I think of it, could I just creates 2 RAID-1 setups? RAID-1 of the 740GB created by the web configuration and then convert (reformat etc.) the JBOD into another RAID-1? So, in the end I would have 1 740GB RAID-1 and 1 10GB RAID-1?
