Hello,
Had my DNS-323 for about a month and a bit now with no problems. Whilst I was asleep last night one of my housemates switched off the house power to try and restart the router which is in my room. I woke up the next morning and tried to power the server on which went ok except the power light flashes about twice as much during power on until it settles down. However now the machine will not obtain an IP address. From what I can see, there is no network activity going between the router and the server, no flashing network lights on either but they both recordnise that a network cable has been plugged in.
I tried it on both routers to no effect so it should be a problem with the 323 itself. Stupidly I forgot to set it a static IP.
Did the sudden loss of power quite literatly bugger the system up? If there is no way to fix it, if I did a factory reset would I lose all my data stored on the drives?
Thanks,
MM

Update.
I tried to factory reset it and nothing has happened, the problem still remains.
Does anyone have an idea as to whats gone wrong or how to fix it?
Thanks,

There are a couple of different things you can try... (in addition to the Easy Search Utility)
Start by connecting the DNS-323 directly to your computer, assign the computer a static ip address of 192.168.0.30, subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and try to access the DNS-323 at 192.168.0.32, which is the static address it will default to if it cannot lease an address using DHCP.
Next - get the unit's MAC address (should be on the label underneath) and create a static arp entry on your PC pointing an ip address to the MAC address and then try to access the unit at that address. Please remember to delete the static arp pairing afterwards.

Hello,
I found this thread and it looks like my situation..
For the same problem of power now my dns 313 didn't connect to the lan...
It starts up, leds are blue except for network led that is off...
I tried two different routers and both recognised "something" linked but it took no ip.
@minimayhem: how did you fix it?
