Using rsync to copy (nightly) the Drive 1 on Drive 2. ( http://dns323.kood.org/howto:backup)
I have recently noticed I have multiple listings under
Mac:Volumes $ ls
001015_0720 Macintosh HD Volume_1 Volume_1-1 Volume_1-2 Volume_1-3 Volume_2
The DNS is listed under my Shared in the finder window, showing Volume 1, Volume2, webpage
Volume_1-3 maps to HD_a2
Volume 2 maps to HD_b2
Others contain bogus iPhoto libraries
On the DNS-323
/mnt # ls
HD_a2 HD_a4 HD_b2 HD_b4 web_page
HD_a2/b2 represent the valid drives, others are empty

Any insight into the source/cause? I believe this is causing issues with iPhoto sync'n with my appleTv.

Searching with better key words, it seems HD_a4/b4 are expected
