I installed two HDs into my new DNS 323 and set it up as raid 1.
I can only see Vol 1 from the UI.
How do I know the Vol 2 has been used to mirror Vol 1, without removing vol2 and plug into another computer?

Or if you're really paranoid & you have funplug, then telnet/ssh into your DNS323 and try:
mdadm --misc --detail /dev/md0
You should see both discs are part of the array.
