FTP with virtual users?

Hi to all!

I'm setting up my DNS323 as an FTP server but I would like the users to be virtual.

I'm currently using vsftpd which I believe has the option for virtual users, the guide I'm using as a reference is here: http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/centos-re … users.html

it says: "Required software"
■ Berkeley DB (version 4) databases
■ pam_userdb.so

I installed the db42 package from ffp package list and managed to work through the guide up to a point of "Create a PAM File Which Uses Your New Database"

Until a few hours ago I had never even heard of PAM.  I'm guessing this is not included in ffp?  can I even get this pam_userdb.so file?

Has anyone on here created a virtual user for their ftp server ?  maybe using a different ftp server ?

please help!!

Thanks smile

Re: FTP with virtual users?

for db_load you can user this:
http://www.inreto.de/dns323/fun-plug/0. … 2.52-1.tgz
as seen here:
http://www.inreto.de/dns323/fun-plug/0.5/packages/

however i can't find libpam within optware or from fonz. (the only thing available from optware is for another os: http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/slugo … mv5teb.ipk)
i believe someone has to compile it ...

also do you have the latest version of vsftpd for the dns323 with TLS/SSL enabled?
the version from ffp is v.2.0.7 with TLS/SSL enabled however optware has the latest version 2.3.2 but without TLS/SSL.

i am still using SSL 2.0.7 without PAM.
