Hi,
Just bought a DNS-323. My setup is as follows:
Comcast Cable Modem
D-Link EBR-2310 Router
D-Link 5 port Gigabit Switch
Apple Airport Express
DNS-323
MacBook Notebook
I have the Airport Express and the DNS-323 connected to the switch. When I am hard wired into the LAN, I can connect to the DNS-323 just fine. However, the problem is that I am never hard wired into the LAN . I have an Apple Airport Express that I use for connectivity and music streaming to my stereo. I can't seem to locate the DNS-323 on my network when I am connected to the Airport Express. I tried IP Scanner and the IP addresses it finds are 1) my MacBook 2) Apple Network Router. I'm a novice when it comes to networking, but my guess is that this is something to do with the Airport Express settings. Can anyone assist?
Thank you
Conor

Found the problem. It was what I expected. The AE was acting as a router and using DHCP to assign IP addresses to any device connected. Through the Airpot Admin Utility, I was able to turn off this feature. It is under the "Network" tab and called "Distribute IP Addresses". Now I just need to figure out how to assign Static IP Addresses...
