Remove password to NAS (DNS-323)

Hi All,

A couple of questions if you could help please.

Been messing around with permissions/groups etc and now when I go to Nework Places and double click the NAS it prompts for a password. How do I remove this? I have a squeezebox running on startup which points to the NAS for the music, but this doesn't work now as I have to login and enter a password for the NAS before the squeezebox can locate the music.

Another thing, Under the NAS in network places, it has all the folders that I have added in the 'SMB List' in the NAS Config page but is it possible to do this through SSH/Telnet?

Thanks

Sounds like you set some permission on the "SMB Network Places" page, e.g. restricted access to special users / groups. You can edit the permission by clicking the "edit" symbol...

Re: Remove password to NAS (DNS-323)

I know this post is old but I had to post a response since I found solution to the permissions issue.  I am running 1.09 firmware.

Go to the configuration web interface and do the following:

Under Advanced >> Network Acess >> Network Access Settings, there is a button that reads "Reset Network Acess List"

After you press it, select ÖK"at the pop up window, wait 2 seconds, and your NAS should be free of password access.

This was bothering me for months, so I hope I helped someone else that is frustrated with this issue.
