Hello
i try the nfs addon from dlink that seems to be a kernel nfs server package. But running in trouble with permissions, dont know which password must be synced with the clients. Before that i use the ffp unfsd that need a synced telnet / sshd password to give access to the clients. The exports file looks identical thats crazy, but the nfsd wont give permission to share.
NFSD D-Link
root@Tuxstore:~# more /etc/exports
/mnt/HD_a2/media 192.168.1.0/24(rw,no_root_squash,no_subtree_check)
FFP UNFSD
root@Tuxstore:~# more /mnt/HD_a2/ffp/etc/exports
/mnt/HD_a2/media 192.168.1.0/24(rw,no_root_squash,no_subtree_check)
Any successors here?
Eric

There is no password security with the NFS package from D-Link. The only security is restricting it with the hosts setting (which refers to the IP address, wildcard * allowed, of the connecting client). If you're having trouble, you must use privileged ports to connect to the NFS server (I ran in to this problem when trying to connect to the NFS share from a Mac, which tries to use unprivileged ports by default).
