Does it seem normal? because temperature g 0 shows 91 and the fan is on not off.

output looks good.
check this too:
root@nas:~# ls -l /ffp/*/fan*sh -rwxr-xr-x 1 bruno 503 1357 Nov 4 01:22 /ffp/bin/fan_ctrl_cron.sh -rwxr-xr-x 1 bruno 503 277 Nov 4 01:22 /ffp/start/fan-cron.sh root@nas:~# crontab -l 59 1 * * * /usr/sbin/daylight& 30 2 * * * /usr/sbin/stime& */10 * * * * /usr/sbin/offl_chk two& */60 * * * * /usr/sbin/getdhcp& 32 2 * * * /usr/sbin/rtc -s 30 2 2 * * /usr/sbin/rtc -c */1 * * * * /usr/bin/fan_ctrl_cron.sh
In the ls command you should see those x's in beginning
And on the crontab command you should see that last line

This is my output
root@dlink-737348:~/ffp# ls -l /ffp/*/fan*sh

oh and I forgot this one:
root@nas:~# ls -l /usr/bin/fan* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1357 Nov 19 16:32 /usr/bin/fan_ctrl_cron.sh

getting this:

ls: /usr/bin/fan*: No such file or directory

Ok it's not adding the script to the cron... that's the problem...
What happens when you type: /ffp/start/fan-cron.sh
Offline
This.... but you saw from above the file is there....
root@dlink-737348:~# /ffp/start/fan-cron.sh

Yes... that's very weird indeed... I'm puzzled...

you and me both, the files show in green here which means executable

Yes, but even if they weren't executables it would show "permission denied" rather than "not found"
What if you type ./fan-cron.sh from ffp/start?
Like this:
root@dlink-737348:~/ffp/start# ./fan-cron.sh
Offline
I tried that already too... But it returns not found if I try transmission as well...
I tried this chmod 777 fan-cron.sh and rebooted and still didnt run

It was already chmoded to 777 before (same as rwxrwxrwx).
This is really weird...
Try /ffp/bin/fan_ctrl_cron.sh
Just to see if it runs that script from there

Same thing....
root@dlink-737348:~# /ffp/bin/fan_ctrl_cron.sh
-sh: /ffp/bin/fan_ctrl_cron.sh: not found

how about this:
touch /ffp/start/fan-cron.sh
touch /ffp/bin/fan_ctrl_cron.sh
touch will just update the "last modified" timestamp of the files (or create an empty file if it doesn't exist)
then run again:
ls -l /ffp/*/fan*
and try running the script again:
/ffp/start/fan-cron.sh

how about:
cat /ffp/start/fan-cron.sh
Should show the contents of the file like this:
root@nas:~# cat /ffp/start/fan-cron.sh
#!/bin/sh
# copy script to rootfs to avoid preventing the disks from spinning down
cp /ffp/bin/fan_ctrl_cron.sh /usr/bin/
# add the fan control script to the current cron list at 1 minute intervals
echo "$(crontab -l;echo '*/1 * * * * /usr/bin/fan_ctrl_cron.sh')"|crontab -

light blue means they are links (redirects to some other file in a different path), you see where it links to with ls -l
That's normal behaviour. Everything in ls is as it should be... it's the not found error that shouldn't happen...
Off for now... bye!

Hi Bgravato,
I deleted the .sh files and this time created them using VI within the ssh shell and it worked. Must have not like the files I made with notepad++ in windows.
