Hi everybody,
I finally bought a DSM G600. Very difficult to find a byer accepting to send it to my country.
Anyway, now I am a little confuse to install Debian on it...
I saw this howto, but i don't know where to start :
http://dns323.kood.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=17
And this one look similar: http://dns323.kood.org/dsmg600/howto:chroot_debian
But my question is: as I don't have any Linux already installed on my Dlink, so I cannot connect on it and start the installation using ssh connexion from my Ubuntu PC to the Dlink.
Someone could clarify this point to me? Looks strange to me.
Also three more questions:
- Those Hoowto are still up to date, since they are four years old? The url are still valid?
- The wifi will work on this debian (can I use Wep or wpa)?
- Can I boot Debian on this hardisk?
Sorry if my question looks stupid but I am really lost....
1000 thanks in advance for your help!
Gazou

All your questions are covered by previous forums posts and wiki pages (maybe not the url question, but seriously cant you just test them by pasting them to address bar and using google to get alternative links?)

When official installer does not support DSM-G600 then you can just install it using ssh or any other normal method. On other thread I suggested that you should buy DNS-3xx or NSA-2xx based nas if your goal is hdd-boot. DSM-G600 is the hardest to make boot from hdd and because of old kernel your options are very very limited.
