One of the hard drives in my DNS-321 has developed corrupt directories and I thought I'd run e2fsck on it. However, neither the fonz fsck method not cleanboot worked. Since I have a DNS-323 as well, I tried fonz's fsck on it and it is running as I type this.
In a search of the forums, it looks like the DNS-321 might be somewhat orphaned in this area. Is that true and I have to reformat or is there some hope of fixing the hard drive and losing only some of the information in it?
I use rsync to back up the 323 to the 321 so a reformat would mostly be a PITA and take a long time. Even if I did it, it would be nice to know if there is a better way.
Thanks.

I'm by no means an expert, but thought I'd take a stab at helping —
If you say fonz's fsck works on the DNS-323, couldn't you (1) boot fsck into the ramdrive on the 323; (2) swap in your 321 HDs (it shouldn't wipe anything since nothing is mounted..); (3) run fsck; (4) swap your 323 harddrives and then reboot?
That way can fsck the 321 HDs, but at the same time keep all your 323 data (I think).
