Slow access to DNS323 over VPN

Looking for kind soul to help me with this, as has been trying all sorts of ways without any success...

I'm connected to my work VPN over PPTP client which had the option to split tunnel.
But when I'm connected, the access to DNS323 is extremely slow and freezing up the explorer at times.
It is on a static IP and did a tracert and also a ping, seems ok as per below.

I'm using Win7 enterprise and connected to a linksys router (wired link).

Can someone help on this? Thanks!

Re: Slow access to DNS323 over VPN

It looks like you are on a Window's based PC on your home network.  Is it possible that your VPN client is not playing well with the smb protocol and port (this is what explorer uses to connect to your DNS)?  Perhaps your VPN Client logs can shed some light?

I would try running some speed/stability tests while off of VPN.  If those turn out to be rock solid, then it's definitely your VPN client.

Re: Slow access to DNS323 over VPN

Hi beck, thanks - yah there seems to be no problem in accessing the drives when my VPN is off, besides the client (since that one is corporate and I dont think I will make any headway there...) any things that can be done on my end?
