nfs and uid/gid mapping

Hi,

I have two users, both have their own Ubuntu Lucid Lynx machine and both access nfs shares on my DNS323+ffp.

They have the following uids:

user1 on client1:   1000 (standard uid for the default user)
user1 on DNS323:  502

user2 on client2:   1000
user2 on DNS323: 503

As both lucid machines do experience problems with CIFS, I decided to favor nfs for mounting shares. However, I now have the problem to map the default uids of 1000 to the either 502 or 503 depending from which client they come.

I tried the option "map_daemon" in the exports file, but unfortunately the nfsd does not understand this keyword.

any help appreciated!

bye
Marcus.
