Installing Transmission 2.11 - How to ??

Hi All,

I am sorry if I double post this.

I have been trying to install Transmission on my 323 with no luck.  I post a question in the thread "Transmission 1.3", but nobody seems to care, because I am asking a very basic question, while they are an advanced users who are discussing complex issues on Transmission.

I recently bought DNS-323 and hoping I could do more with it.

I upgraded the firmware to the latest (1.09) and follows the steps here :

http://www.horto.ca/?p=10

and this :

http://mnshankar.wordpress.com/2010/07/ … s-323-nas/

I managed to install funplug, set up the ssh access, set up the web server (lighttpd), but when it comes to Transmission, I am unable to run the Web GUI in my browser when I enter http://NAS IP:9091/

It only shows :

Unable to connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 192.168.1.100:9091.

Meaning the Transmission is not running.

I just can't figure it out.

Can anyone help me on this, please ??

Thank you

What steps did you actually accomplish in setting up transmission?

Did you correctly modify the settings.json file?

If so, then post its contents here. Maybe you aren't running on port 9091.

Do you have a transmission log file?

3 * (DNS-323 with 2 * 2TB) = 12TB Running FW v1.08 & FFP v0.5

I bet the .sh isn't executable.  Or he didn't add 192.168.*.* to the settings.json file.

@aharjono,

You can type # transmission-remote -l and see if you get output.  Then you'll know it's the settings.json file (most likely) preventing you access to the web gui.
