Connection Timeout Issues.

Hello all,

So I have been searching the interwebs for a solution to my DSM-600 connection issue. I have read several posts here concenring timeouts and large file transfer, however, I have found that these do not really apply to my issue. I have found that my connection to my unit will timeout its network connection (Hardwired currently, however wireless does it too) after a short period. I have found that by using "ping 192.168.1.5 -t -l 1" from my pc will keep the connection alive and allow for general use. This obviously creates undue network traffic and would like to veer away from this "fix". Can anyone advise me as to why my unit is having this issue and how I can resolve it. I have applied fun_plug on the most rudimentary level to allow for telnet access. Fun_plugging is new to me, I am well versed with programming languages but am a *nix noob. Thanks.
