Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Chaps,
Ive had a 323 for a couple of weeks now and have been buggering about with it installing fun_plug etc and seemed fine.
I removed the fun_plug and tried to install alt-f as per the instructions but now when bootnig the 323 i cant find it at all!
No error lights on the front of the unit but it still doesnt seem to boot onto the network.
Any idea how i can reset the unit back to factory defaults without actually being on the unit?
Any help would be graetly appreciated.
Cheers
Craig

There's a pin hole switch at the back.
I believe there are two ways to install alt-f, one of which involves flashing the firmware, and is perhaps not recommended until after you have tested using the "non-flash" method - which did you use?

I tried the non-flash method which i have tried and it worked before but since reset it back.
I did try the pinhole method not sure how long to hold it down for but did try a good 30 seconds with it switched on!

Alt-F does fsck (filesystem check) on dirty filesystems before it starts the networking, which can take a while (up to an hour would be a good guess) depending on the size of the disk. So it's quite possible you're NAS wasn't hung it was just checking the disks/filesystems (btw, while it's doing the disk check the power led will blink)

Yeah i did read that dhub and left it for a good 5 hours but nowt came up.
To be fair ive not had a chance to look at it but am going to spend some time on it tonight. I will post my findings!

If this is the "non-flash" method, shouldn't removing the disk that has the alt-f firmware allow it to boot the factory firmware?
