Okay guys, maybe you can help me and maybe not.
I'm running Transmission 2.22 (12102) on a D-Link DNS 323 with version 1.09 on its firmware. Transmission itself works, my buddy and I can both access the device via the website GUI and start torrents on it, pause torrents, remove torrents, you name it. Our problem comes when I try to drag those files to another folder that I've setup to give my buddy FTP access to.
"/Volume_1/Downloads" is the location Transmission stores the files it accumulates.
"/Volume_1/Drop Box" is the location that I've setup my buddy's FTP access.
I have other files on the device that I don't want my buddy accessing so I haven't given him full access to the device.
Earlier today, I tried dragging files from the first location mentioned to the second so he could download them but it keeps asking me for a login. I try and use the one that my buddy and I setup for Transmission, but no matter what I do I can't move files in or out of the first location. Please note that I've also used my login details for the device and the device's admin login details and it doesn't work.
When I gave my buddy FTP access to the first location, and gave him access on the NAS to read/write, he was unable to download the files. He said something about getting disconnected or something.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might get around this problem?
I don't know if this helps or not but I have a Mac running OSX 10.6 and he has various Windows computers and none of them work.

Figured this out.
When I went in an CHMOD'd the folder to 777, it didn't stick and all I had to do was rerun the command.
