Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

I want to give everyone read access to the entire volume but grant them R/W access to 1 or two folder and can't get it to work with users/group.
I have my NAS folder with a few sub folders i want to give my self full access to the NAS and everyone else "Read Only" When i do that i get 2 network shares 1 is called NAS (Read only) and another NAS-1 (full access for me).
Why can't you have 1 share with different permissions for users based on the windows login or group vs each user having separate folder. This gets very confusing because i got different shares for different people but all to the same folder or sub folders so allot of foldername-1, foldername-2 foldername-3
If i could label the share it would be easier like NAS-John and NAS-All at least this way i can tell which share is for who and what rights its has.

Maybe this helps. http://dns323.kood.org/howto:bettersamba
I think you have alot of flexibility if you take full control of the samba config.
Outline of what you need to do.
Take control of the sambaconfig by overwriting config during boot. This method you should be able to find on this forum/wiki.
Learn how the samba config works.

can you please point me in the write direction? the wiki seems to be for flashing to NVRAM. I don't want to flash anything to NVRAM until i install ALT-F. I tried searching in the 323 fourms but could not find any tutorials that will outline how to get it installed
