Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

bittorrent support in fw 1.04

I heard the current beta 1.04b21 has bittorrent functionalities inbedded in its GUI. it's a great alternative to the CLI based ones I've tried such as torrent-curses (using the fun_plug exploit).
I wonder if thats done using the official bittorrent package and Python 2.4.4

If anyone wondered about power consumption, i believe the numbers are 12V x 3A + 5V x 3A = 51W. For comparision, what are other alternative NAS devices or displayless servers?

What about the current FON router "la fonera", u tried that?
Is like an small fanless wireless access point with support for double SSIDs (1 private, another public)
As well as DNS-323, its based on linux and there's an injection exploit easily done to enble SSH root access. Has anyone been successful as a FON "bill" character, where you make money from leasing your internet access?

keep up the good work, people !

           $   my gearlist    $    macbook    $    dns-323     $
   $    gps reciever    $    weed    $    printer    $    la fonera     $

There was a test in the german computer magazin "c't 07/2007", page 190 and they measured the following numbers for DNS323 equipped with two Samsung SP2504C (250 GB) disks:

Idle :                             25.3 W
Non Idle:                       26.2 W
Idle with disk spin down: 10.7 W

If you now considerd that ONE samsung SP2504C disks consumes

9.5 W Seeking
8.0 W Reading / Writing
7.5 W Idle
1.5 W Standby (spin down)

you get to the conclusion that the power consumption of the box itself is quite ok. Take a look at the new Qnap Turrbostation TS-100 and at the new Samsung 1 TB Samsung hard disk
(5.4 W) if you want to mimimize power consumption.
