CPAN gzip issue

I'm trying to use CPAN to download and install some Perl modules but it complains that the --decompress flag is incorrect (looks like it should be -d instead).

Any ideas how I can get around this? Is there a specific version of gzip I need to install that supports the flag?

Re: CPAN gzip issue

Maybe you are using the busybox gzip, have you installed the ffp package of gzip?

Re: CPAN gzip issue

I've tried both.. neither seem to recognise the --decompress flag.. or any that I can find either...

Re: CPAN gzip issue

ffp version of gzip does support --decompress. Try it again.

Re: CPAN gzip issue

Cheers.. it was pointing at the right one, but must've been out of date... I've updated it and now it's churning away doing its thing...

Re: CPAN gzip issue

Hmm.. it chunters away for a while downloading modules etc. and then comes to a halt with two pink lights on the front of the NAS.. a quick investigation indicates that rootfs is at 100%...

I guess it's CPAN downloading stuff into the RAM fs.. just got to figure out if it can be diverted elsewhere...
