Yet another folder permissions thread...

I have 2 questions, I think I know the answer to both, but might as well give it a shot.

First, is there any way to prevent writing to Volume_1, in other words everything saved must be saved in a sub dir?

Question #2, I have done some searching, and believe I found the answer, but just want clarification...

I would like to protect a folder off the Volume_1 to only 2 users, and allow all permissions on the rest of the drive.  Currently the permissions are allow all on Volume_1 (default).

From what I've read, it looks like you must set up user authentication on the whole device, allowing all access to the 2 users who can read/write to the private dir, and allow except on private dir to everybody else.  Is this correct?

Thanks
