Installing ffp

Could someone just confirm for me that there is no risk to existing data on my two drives (DNS-323) from installing ffp?

I'm familiar with Linux and I can't see any reason why there should be any risk from a script that merely activates a telenet server.

Also, is there a minimum firmware requirement or can someone point me in the direct that lists any limitations of certain firmware version, please?

.:edit:.

Oh, and is there a general FAQ somewhere?
