Update from Debian Lenny to Squeeze

Hi,

my DNS-323 is currently running Debian squeeze. Is anyone able to point me in the right direction of any resources detailing the process from upgrading from lenny to squeeze?

A few people have noted that this is possible, however I am struggling.

I have updated the /etc/apt/sources.list file to reference squeeze, however upon running apt-get update, I encounter the following error;

"Unable to find expected entry main/binary-arm/Packages in Meta-index file"

I am aware that the DNS-323 is running an ARM processor so are there additional steps I need to carry out in order to update to squeeze?

I am a relative newbie when it comes to Linux.

Thanks in advance.

Nick

Hello,

I guess what you want to do is :

> apt-get dist-upgrade

Re: Update from Debian Lenny to Squeeze

As far as I know you cannot run chroot squeeze with dlink kernel. Squeeze supports armel and not arm. Armel cannot be run with the vanilla dlink kernel.

alt-f or native debian are ways forward.
