I thought that it could be a nice feature to have this device burn DVDs and cross compiled the dvd+rw tools today.
The build was very straight forward. Now I have all those necessary binaries, however whenever I try to issue one of these commands, I always end up with an error.
If I e.g. try to get media info with dvd+rw-mediainfo, I'll get the following:
# ./dvd+rw-mediainfo /dev/scd0 INQUIRY: [TSSTcorp][CD/DVDW SH-S162L][TS06] GET [CURRENT] CONFIGURATION: Mounted Media: 1Ah, DVD+RW Current Write Speed: 4.0x1385=5540KB/s Write Speed #0: 4.0x1385=5540KB/s Write Speed #1: 2.0x1385=2770KB/s GET [CURRENT] PERFORMANCE: Write Performance: 4.0x1385=5540KB/s@[0 -> 2295104] Speed Descriptor#0: 00/2295103 R@8.0x1385=11080KB/s W@4.0x1385=5540KB/s Speed Descriptor#1: 00/2295103 R@8.0x1385=11080KB/s W@2.4x1385=3324KB/s READ DVD STRUCTURE[#0h]: Media Book Type: 00h, DVD-ROM book [revision 0] Media ID: RITEK/004 Legacy lead-out at: 2295104*2KB=4700372992 :-( unable to READ DISC INFORMATION: Input/output error
dmesg will dump the following:
# dmesg -c sr0: CDROM (ioctl) error, command: 0x51 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 20 00 Current sr00:00: sns = 70 0 Raw sense data:0x70 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x0a 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00
I'm not too familiar with DVD burning and what kernel modules might be necessary to make it work, maybe sg.o (SCSI generic (sg) driver)?
Anybody any ideas?
Find attached my precompiled binaries (all built statically to ease you own testing).
