Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

I have played a little too much with the user groups and users so now it seems that I have a lot of files that I can access anymore because the only user that has access is \\NAS\unix_user.504
Now I have reset to factory setting but with no luck.
What do I do now???

1) reset to factory settings
2a) if you already had a fun_plug:
rename your 'fun_plug' and 'fun_plug.d' to '__fun_plug' and '__fun_plug.d'
...and continue to the steps below
2b) if you had no fun_plug, just follow directions below
3) download fonz latest fun_plug 0.3 (http://www.inreto.de/dns323/fun-plug/0. … 0.3.tar.gz)
unzip files fun_plug and fun_plug.tar to \\NAS\Volume_1
4) reboot
5) connect with telnet to your DNS-323 IP
6) now you have root access and can add new users or do chmod/chown to the user you want
