I'm running with the chrooted Etch Debian. I'm also a newb in the Linux world, and in order to free the maximum of memory, i would like to kill processes which are not critical and not useful for me like the Upnp server or the dlink admin web server. Unfortunately, when i kill this process, it is respawned few minutes later. I searched information about the boot scripts and the init process, and i can't find the line in the boot process which launch this webserver. According to you, is it launched by the init process with the respawn constraint? do you have an idea to get rid of it?
This forums and the wiki rocks!! Lets find a way to flash this box with a full debianlike firm... hope...
