very slow ftp file transfers

hi everyone,

i am already an owner of dns-323 and just bought another dns-313 to use for IP camera recording.  But, I'm finding the ftp transfer rates to be very very slow, it's unbearable, it's taking about 30 minutes to transfer a 5mb file whereas the dns-323 takes only about 2-3 minutes.

can anyone please let me know if this the same speeds they're getting or am i setting up something wrong on my 313?  also, i'm not able to use IE to view the ftp server on 313, but i'm able to do so in 323.  i need to use windows explorer or ftp client software to use with 313.  is this common?

thanks for you help.

sam

Re: very slow ftp file transfers

In Web-admin go to  SETUP -> LAN Setup and enter MTU value 576 or 1152. Then press "Save settings" button and "Logout" link.

Re: very slow ftp file transfers

MTU Value 576 is good for isdn connections...dsl requires values between 1400 and 1488 depending on your internet provider
