Frys has the 343 on sale for $300 this week.
That seems like a reasonable price. I have a 323 which I'm using for backup right now, but I'm realizing that as my media library grows, I will quickly run out of space. Upgrading to the 343 gives me some sort of upgrade path.
From what I can see, people have had more problems with the 343 than the 323.
Is there any consensus on these issues:
Is the 343 "ready for prime time"?
Do all of the programs that run on the 323 run on the 343 without recompile?
Is the upgrade hard or can I just move the drives?

Keith,
I always do.
I agree with you that there are plenty of answers to these questions and that is exactly the problem.
In searching and browsing, I found fairly mixed reviews and many more stories of difficulties here than in the 323 fora. From my point of view, the 323 is barely functional unless you are at least a moderately sophisticated linux hacker. The 343 appears to have been, at least early on, even more problematic, and there are some fairly unexplained stories of things just not working on the 343 while other uses seem to have everything work the first time. I was trying to see if any consensus had developed that would integrate them in some way.
